Woody Allen

Midnight in Paris, which we went to last night, is a pretty enjoyable movie, once you let go of the fact that nobody--and I mean nobody--talks like the people in that movie do.

[The heavy use of Bechet on the soundtrack helps things out.]

Not only does no one outside WA movies talk like that, there is no way aside from plot engine that the Owen Wilson character would get engaged to his little blond fiancee. For me, the best parts of the movie were seeing Paris (esp. Montmartre) and Hemingway's machisissimo.

Looking forward to meeting you 10/23.
